Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes intense pain and stiffness in muscles and ligaments, sleep problems and fatigue.

Fibromyalgia most commonly affects women between 30 and 60 years old but can occur at any age. As there are no external signs of the condition and sufferers may look well, it is extremely difficult to diagnose. Areas most affected are the elbows, knees, hips, neck and shoulders. Fibromyalgia may disappear for long periods of time then return.

Full recovery of Fibromyalgia is not very common and at present the cause is unknown.
